How do you make a block poster?
Choose an image, check your layout and print the sheets. BlockPoster.ai puts those three steps in one workspace, with a free basic PDF to try before upgrading.
01
Start your block poster
Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP, or sign in to generate original artwork with AI. Choose a photo with enough detail for your finished size. Ordinary uploads and PDF pages stay in this browser. Create with AI sends your prompt and any reference image you explicitly choose to online generation and safety-check providers.
02
Size your block poster
Choose A4, US Letter, A3, Legal or Tabloid. Set the width or sheets across, then adjust crop, margins and overlap. Check the page count and effective image DPI before downloading. The preview and PDF use the same layout calculations.
03
Print your block poster
Download the already-split PDF. Print each page at Actual size or 100%, one page per sheet, rather than tiling the PDF again. Test one sheet, trim the guides, line up overlapping details and tape the backs together. Then enjoy your finished wall art.
THE PRACTICAL TOOLKIT
What is included in your block poster workspace?
A block poster needs more than image splitting. Plan the paper, check the preview and download a PDF with predictable page order. These tools are ready in the homepage workspace, with no installation or AI credits needed for layout changes.
A free block poster to start with
Upload your image and download a single-image, multi-page basic PDF without an account. Free output includes a small brand watermark and is capped at 150 DPI. Keep adjusting and re-exporting until the layout is right; choose a paid HD unlock when you need a watermark-free finish. Free block poster PDFs support up to 5 sheets across; paid HD PDFs support up to 10. All five paper sizes remain available.
Your block poster photos stay local
Ordinary block poster photos and PDF pages are decoded, cropped and split inside your browser, without uploading originals. Create with AI is separate: prompts, explicitly chosen reference images and generated outputs use online generation or safety-check providers. Only approved artwork is saved for your account. Local project files are not cloud backups.
Five paper sizes for your block poster
Choose A4, US Letter, A3, US Legal or Tabloid, in portrait or landscape orientation. Adjust the margins to suit your printer and preview the finished dimensions before downloading. Always match the selected size to the paper actually loaded in your printer; A4 and Letter are not interchangeable.
A block poster that is easy to assemble
Set an overlap so neighboring sheets repeat a little image detail. Page numbers and optional trim guides help you keep the pages in order and line up the edges. Print a test sheet at 100% before the full job, then trim, align and tape the sheets from the back.
Your block poster on modern browsers
Use the workspace on a desktop, laptop, tablet or phone with a modern browser. The responsive preview and settings keep the same print layout. Large images and long PDFs still need enough device memory; choose a smaller source or fewer pages if your device struggles with a large project.
A block poster without installing software
Open the website, select your image and work directly in the studio. There is no app or extension to install. Photo uploads support JPG, PNG and WebP up to 40 MB. Download the tiled PDF, then print it using a PDF viewer and the printer connected to your device.
DESIGNED FOR REAL WALLS
Why choose BlockPoster.ai for your block poster?
Five practical reasons: private uploads, a usable free edition, ordinary paper, built-in AI and flexible HD downloads. The right starting point depends on your image and how often you print.
01
A private block poster workflow
Your uploaded photos are decoded, cropped and split on your device, not sent to our server. Local projects and print presets stay in this browser too. That makes it practical to work on family photos or classroom artwork without uploading the original block poster image. AI generation is clearly different: prompts and generated assets use online services.
02
A free block poster you can actually print
Try the full layout process without an account or subscription. The free block poster edition exports a single-image, multi-page PDF at up to 150 DPI with a small brand watermark. Repeat downloads are welcome, and all five paper sizes, crop controls and assembly guides are included. Free does not include AI credits or batch ZIP. Free block poster PDFs support up to 5 sheets across; paid HD PDFs support up to 10. All five paper sizes remain available.
03
A block poster made for everyday paper
Use a home printer that supports your chosen sheet size; specialist large-format equipment is not required. Set margins to match your printer, add overlap for alignment and check the actual finished dimensions. Block poster page numbers and optional trim guides make assembly easier. The effective DPI estimate shows what the source image can really deliver, rather than promising detail that is not there.
04
AI ideas straight into your block poster
Describe the art you want, choose a style and send the result directly into the same preview. Your AI block poster needs no separate editor to navigate or file to manually import. One successful AI image costs 2 credits; failed provider attempts return the reserved credits. Cropping, splitting and PDF downloads use no AI credits. Review generated artwork and usage rights before commercial use.
05
Flexible block poster downloads, clear credits
Choose an active monthly or annual subscription for unlimited HD, watermark-free downloads, up to 300 DPI when the source permits. Prefer a block poster with no renewal? Choose a $4.99 one-time pack with 1 source-image HD unlock and 2 AI credits, a $14.99 pack with 5 unlocks and 20 credits, or a $39.90 bundle with 20 unlocks and 80 credits. AI generation and HD downloads use separate allowances. Re-export an unlocked image at a new size without another unlock. Purchased credits and unused unlocks do not expire; subscription credits refresh monthly without rollover.
FROM PAPER TO POSSIBILITIES
What can you create with a block poster?
Make a block poster for a lesson, a quiet corner or a celebration. These original images are starting points, not customer testimonials. Try a sample in the studio, choose the paper in your printer and use the calculated finished size rather than a fixed size promised by a picture.
A classroom block poster map
Build a large classroom display from a decorative world-map illustration. A block poster can make a reading corner or project wall more inviting. The sample is artistic, not an authoritative geography reference. Add your own teaching chart if you need accurate labels or curriculum-specific detail.
Landscape block poster wall art
Turn a mountain scene or favorite travel photo into a block poster for a living room or home office. Preview the crop and effective DPI before choosing a large width. Start with a small test print, then assemble the landscape from ordinary sheets for your wall.
A block poster for your next event
Use cheerful floral artwork for a birthday backdrop, welcome display or party decoration. A block poster lets you adjust the size to the space you have. The sample is ready to try; upload your own finished invitation artwork when you need specific names, dates or event lettering.
MADE FOR EVERYDAY PROJECTS
Who uses a block poster?
A block poster is useful when a single sheet is too small and you are happy to assemble the print yourself. Bring your own image for a practical project, or start with a sample to learn the process before using ink and paper.
01
Educators & classroom creators
Make a block poster for classroom displays, lesson illustrations, reading corners and student project walls. Use your own reviewed educational artwork when facts or labels matter. Preview the page count first so you can plan paper, printing time and a flat area for assembly.
02
DIY makers & craft enthusiasts
Enlarge visual craft references, decorative outlines and project mood boards across ordinary sheets. If you use a block poster as a craft template, include a known-size reference and verify a test print at 100%. The tool splits images; it does not validate engineering measurements or sewing-pattern accuracy.
03
Home decorators & photo lovers
Bring family memories, original artwork and holiday photos to a blank wall. Choose a finish that fits your space, check the source resolution and test the colors on your paper. Assemble a temporary display first, or mount your finished print on a suitable backing for a more durable result.
04
Event planners & party hosts
Create welcome displays, seasonal decorations and colorful party backdrops from your finished artwork. Plan the size around the available wall and allow time to trim and align the sheets. Check names and dates in the original image before printing the whole set; the splitter does not edit that text.
MAKE IT YOURS
Which block poster plan fits your ideas?
Start with a free PDF. Upgrade for HD, no watermark and AI creation. Splitting never uses AI credits.
2 credits = 1 successful AI image. Failed generation returns reserved credits. PDF splitting uses no AI credits. Annual subscriptions still receive credits monthly, not all at once. Subscription credits do not roll over. One-time purchases never auto-renew. Prices in USD. Subscriptions renew until canceled; one-time packs do not. Secure checkout is handled by Stripe. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law. Canceling a subscription stops future renewals, not the current paid period.Read terms and refund policy
GOOD TO KNOW
Block poster questions, answered.
Find the practical details on free downloads, print quality, privacy and AI credits before you start.
What is a block poster?
A block poster is one enlarged image split across multiple printable sheets, then assembled into a single large picture. BlockPoster.ai creates a tiled PDF from your photo or AI artwork. You choose the paper and finished dimensions; the workspace calculates the pages and shows the layout before you print.
Can I make a block poster for free?
Yes. Upload, crop, split and preview without paying, then download a free single-image PDF without signing in. Free exports are capped at 150 DPI and carry a small brand watermark. You can export again after changing the layout. HD, watermark-free PDFs need an active subscription or a one-time source-image unlock; AI credits are not included in Free. Free block poster PDFs support up to 5 sheets across; paid HD PDFs support up to 10. All five paper sizes remain available.
Does a block poster use AI credits when I split it?
No. Splitting, resizing, cropping and PDF export use 0 AI credits. Only a successful Create with AI image uses 2 credits. Subscribers receive a monthly allowance, even with annual billing. Purchased credits do not expire, and failed provider attempts release reserved credits. Account balances keep subscription credits, purchased credits and unused HD unlocks separate.
Will my block poster photos be uploaded?
Ordinary JPG, PNG, WebP uploads and PDF pages are processed locally in your browser. Export your local project before clearing browser data or moving devices. Create with AI is different: prompts and reference images you explicitly select are sent online for generation and safety checks; generated outputs are also checked before account storage. Avoid sensitive personal information.
Which printer can print a block poster?
A printer that accepts your selected paper size can print the tiled PDF. Pick A4, US Letter, A3, Legal or Tabloid and allow for your printer's unprintable edges. Choose Actual size or 100%, not Fit to page, and print one page per sheet. Test one sheet first. The PDF is already tiled, so a second Poster or tiling pass is unnecessary.
How do I assemble a block poster?
Follow the page numbers from left to right and top to bottom. Trim where the guides indicate, align the repeated image detail in the overlap and tape the backs together. A 10 mm overlap is a useful starting setting, not a requirement for every printer. Keep the sheets flat and check alignment before fixing an entire row.
Why does my block poster look pixelated?
Enlarging a small source spreads its pixels over a larger area. A 300 DPI export setting cannot create missing detail. Check the effective image DPI shown in the preview, choose a higher-resolution source or reduce the finished dimensions. Viewing distance, ink, paper and printer settings also affect appearance; compare a test sheet before printing the full set.
Can I download my block poster again?
Yes. Free basic PDFs can be downloaded repeatedly. An active subscription provides unlimited HD downloads. A one-time HD unlock belongs to its source image, so another crop or paper size does not spend another unlock for the same image. A different source needs its own unlock when you are not subscribed. Batch ZIP supports Starter 10, Creator 20 and Studio 30 files; one-time pack customers can process up to 10, with one unlock per source. Batch ZIP is not part of the free edition. Free block poster PDFs support up to 5 sheets across; paid HD PDFs support up to 10. All five paper sizes remain available.
PRINT WITH CONFIDENCE
Print your block poster with confidence
Your BlockPoster.ai PDF is already split into paper-sized pages. Follow these steps for printing and assembly; no specific PDF software is required.
01
Match your paper and print at 100%
Load the same paper size you selected in the studio. Choose Actual size / 100%, not Fit to page, so the artwork keeps its intended dimensions.
02
One PDF page per sheet
Print one page on each sheet, on one side only. The poster is already tiled: do not use a second Poster, tiling or multiple-pages-per-sheet setting.
03
Read the guide and test one poster sheet
PDF page 1 is your assembly guide, not part of the artwork. Poster sheets start on PDF page 2. Print one poster sheet first and check its margins, scale and detail before printing the rest.
04
Trim, align and assemble your block poster
Arrange the poster sheets in page-number order, left to right and top to bottom. Follow enabled trim guides, align repeated detail in the overlap and tape the sheets from the back.
